The Craft Students League (CSL) was a 73 year-old, non-profit school that specialized in fine art and craft and served over 2000 adult students per year. Managed the school’s $1,000,000 budget and day-to-day operations including the supervision of a part-time staff of 60 instructors, a full-time staff of 3 managers (including their subordinates) and 3 support staff. Was responsible for the schools 20,000 square feet of studios for book arts, ceramics, drawing and painting, jewelry/metalsmithing, mixed-media and woodworking.
• Managed the programming of over 500 classes annually and taught teen and adult classes in mixed media, ceramics and papermaking
• Recruited, hired and evaluated all faculty and office staff
• Produced printed matter and advertisements promoting CSL programs including 2 course catalogs annually
• Initiated, coordinated and grew an arts-in-education program with the New York City Board of Education and the YWCA Early Learning Center
• Coordinated workshops with craft artists of national reputations
